Brass Statue

I liked the, errr, tasteful use of selective focus… moving right along.

There was a display of statues in the entry area for the show. We arrived a bit early so it was still quiet. I snapped a few shots of the statues until the associated sales person suggested that I shouldn’t be doing that. Mostly I was just playing with composition and I don’t really recall much about the statues except that they were well out of my price range.

Playing with depth of field and selective focus.

There are a couple of large angel statues near the dam, it is customary to rub their toes, hence the shine.

Boar statue 2of2

Boar statue 2of2

I don’t have any more to say about the Boar, so I’ll comment on the camera instead.

As we all know I’m months behind on review editing and posting.
What I’m finding as I go is that the saturation and white balance settings on the new camera were somewhat off, so some things have odd color casts to them.
I could fix this is post processing, but every additional bit of post processing reduces the chance of me getting around to uploading the images, so I’m going to continue to post the photos mostly unedited.

Boar statue 1of2

This Boar statue lives outside Sydney hospital, toss a coin in the pool, rub it’s nose and make a wish… if you’re into that sort of thing.

I’ve photographed the Boar before, this time I was interested in using the framing to try and make him look more alive.
